Background

The PIT Answer Form is required to be filled out for all Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing projects that do not participate in HMIS to complete the Sheltered Point in Time Count. Each PIT Answer Form contains information about all clients active in an Emergency Shelter or Transitional Housing project on the night of the Point in Time Count. The data collected on this form gives the CoC a clear picture of who is experiencing homelessness in Orange County on the night of the PIT.

Blank PIT Answer Forms can be found in the 2024 HIC and Sheltered PIT knowledge base article. In order to streamline the data review and data entry process, information about each column on the PIT Answer Form can be found right inside the PIT Answer Form. Hover over any cell colored light yellow to see more information about the column:

Each non-HMIS participating Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing project should have its own separate PIT Answer Form, filled in with the required information about each client who was active in the project on the night of the PIT. Clients are considered active if they are residing in the project on the night of the PIT.

When you have completed your PIT Answer Forms, please upload your completed PIT Answer Forms to your agency's Dropbox folder.
